WHO ARE WE?

Established in 2018. The Raider Riot started of as a bunch of freshman dressing up to basketball games in 2017. Texas Tech played LSU at home game and a couple of the Co-Founders dressed up in ESPN suits.

Ever since then, those same Co-Founders (with the addition of me as a freshman) started to work with the marketing team at Texas Tech. With a season that lead to an Elite 8 run, a 17-1 record at home (Best in the Big 12), and the first College Gameday appearance in school history, it was not only the basketball team that was a changing culture, but the home court advantage as well. In 2018, the Co-Founders, the marketing team, and the basketball team teamed up to name this section: The Raider Riot.

In the first year of being an official student section, not only have we increased overall student attendance tremendously, we have gotten the recognition of Big Mondays on ESPN, we have helped create an atmosphere for another 17-1 home record, and have gotten 600 students to Minnesota for the Final Four, which was by far the most out of the 4 schools that competed there.

What once was just a couple of guys in ESPN suits, is now one of the  largest student sections in the NCAA at 4,500 students, and serious contenders for student section of the year. We are striving to make the Raider Riot an everlasting legacy for the craziest fans in the nation.
